Moments Like These

Byline-BencioI sit on my couch. I flip my laptop and start putting my random thoughts into words. And right now, I don’t know exactly where these words may take me.

This is what life is all about. We don’t know where it may lead us. But we just ought to keep going.

By the way, why am I writing this article again? Ah, yes! This is for my first post as the newest columnist of Aslag Online. Oh well, I know that I’m not as good as what Kuya Mike expects me to be, hehe! But this certainly gives me the challenge to get my fingers writing once again! =)

Now, I check my wrist watch and follow the hand running after every second. It is only 8 in the evening and I realize I still got so much time to do something. But how am I supposed to spend it? Moments like this give me the opportunity to poke myself with some thoughts that are nice to ponder, and questions that are nice to ask. How are we supposed to spend all the time that the world has given us?

As far as I remember, a person has an estimated life expectancy of 60 years. And in 60 years, one has 720 months; over 21, 600 days or over half a million hours to spend living in this world. Now, have you given yourself the chance to wonder how would a person spend all his life? I mean, isn’t it hard to think of what to do with all this time (although thinking is actually a wise way of spending it)?  Or, have you realized how it is to wake up in over 21,600 mornings living in the same world? Having the same name since you were born? Doing the same things as yesterday — taking your bath in the morning, fixing yourself for school, sitting on one of those rickety chairs while listening to an hour or more of lecture, blah blah blah. And sooner or later, working hard for money, pleasing your boss and long hours of office work and overtime!

Well, I guess, it’s all about doing what you enjoy and enjoying what you do! Take it easy and simply be excited about life! As they say, make it a real roller coaster ride. And never allow yourself to grow a room for worries. This is the right attitude. If you have a chance, go and grab it. And give yourself moments like this to meditate and think of things.

Do what you enjoy and enjoy what you do!

I understand that surviving college is never easy. Brain-wrecking exams! Paper works along with other requirements!  And heavy piles of readings which can incredibly stuff a balikbayan box at the end of the year! Imagine? Haha! But there is more to life than this. Find time for yourself and do whatever it is that makes you ‘happy’.

And if you really got so many things to do, be reminded of the people and the reasons why you are working hard, and these will surely make you enjoy what you do.  =)

Take it easy and simply be excited!

Take things one at a time and never allow your self to grow a room for worries! “Don’t worry for tomorrow for it shall worry for itself.” Be carried by every second that passes by. Remember, you can never turn back even a single second, so why not just enjoy today and allow time to take its own course.

Life is truly about waking every morning in high spirit as you take another ride of non-stop trip and adventure. Yes, you may have the same name, but what about knowing a name of a new acquaintance or a new friend?  Yes, you may live in the same world, but what about, being the world of somebody special? (Yikee! Sobrang chessy! Haha!) As they say, make your life a real roller coaster ride!

Look for a chance then go and grab it!

Never be afraid of making mistakes! If you got a chance to experience something new, and you know that it will add up something good to you, go and do your thing! Haha. But make sure that at the end of the day, you’ve become a better person! ^_~

Give yourself moments like this to meditate and think

Allow your self to think of things that really matter! Amidst the busy life that we have, never forget to take silent moments because here is when we really ‘hear’ the best thoughts in life. =)

Well, the truth is that living for 60 years or 21,600 days or over half a million hours doesn’t seem to be that much long if one just know how to enjoy and value every grain of sand dripping from his/her hourglass.
